WHY NOW?

The one question that Team Santiago needs to answer is why now? Why is Team Santiago moving now to extend the NJ Motorsports Park PILOT to 2033 when it does not expire until 2023? A lot can happen in two or three years. The Track might fulfill its promises that it made for the original PILOT, the Track might go on to Phase 2 which would change the amount of the PILOT, the list of what ifs are endless. This long range financial decision should not be made so far in advance. There’s something the track and the commissioners are not telling us. What’s the secret? Go to the Commission meeting on September 3, 2019 at 7 pm and ask Team Santiago WHY NOW?

Team Santiago to Re-Consider NJ Motorsports Park Tax Break

At the August 20 th Millville Commission meeting voters and taxpayers came out and voiced their opinion about the huge tax break for the motor sports park that was on the agenda. Team Santiago listened! The Pilot for the NJ Motorsports Park extension to 2038 was NOT approved. Thanks to all the residents who attended the meeting, who spoke at the podium, and who emailed or called Team Santiago. Your voices were heard. However, this matter is not over and done with. On September 3 rd there will be a presentation by the racetrack as to why they deserve the PILOT extension. The citizens will be allowed to voice their concerns. Then once again Team Santiago will decide whether or not to extend the huge tax break NJMP has been enjoying. If approved it means the racetrack will not be paying their full taxes until at least 2033. It is imperative that once again the residents of Millville attend the September 3rd meeting and be heard. Here are the facts: 1.      Ms.

Team Santiago and the NJ Motorsports Park

At the August 20, 2019 Commission meeting Team Santiago will vote on whether or not to extend the NJ Motorsports Park PILOT to 30 years. The track pays a PILOT instead of normal property taxes. By having this PILOT the NJ Motorsports Park pays $175,000 per year instead of the nearly $800,000 they would pay if taxed like everyone else is. A second ordinance has been added to the agenda for a 25 year PILOT for the NJ Motorsports Park. There is no information attached so it is unknown at this time if this is an additional tax break or not. Team Santiago promised transparency as part of their campaign. Transparency is informing the citizens of Millville what is going on in the city, not leaving out information from the agenda. What is Team Santiago hiding? Ask Team Santiago why at the August 20 th meeting they are considering the tax breaks for the NJ Motorsports Park.   Ask Team Santiago why they raised everyone else’s property taxes but want to let the racetrack pay a fr

No Free Ride for the Racetrack!

Santiago’s “Team” has a very important vote on August 20, 2019. It will decide whether to extend the PILOT for the NJ Motorsports Park. This vote will definitively tell the citizens of Millville who the   “Team” is playing for:   the citizens of Millville or the “Team’s” cronies. If Team Santiago approves the extension of the PILOT, the NJ Motorsports Park will pay hugely reduced property taxes until 2038. Presently what the NJ Motorsports Park pays is 75% lower than what their real taxes should be if it was treated like every other taxpayer. Wouldn’t every citizen in Millville like that deal! Team Santiago is proposing this extension after they just raised property taxes. Team Santiago says the NJ Motorsports Park deserves this extension for what they do for Millville. The track made big promises when it conned the City into the initial PILOT. It fell far short in all categories: Jobs 149 versus thousands promised; revival of High St. Take a look at conditions in c
