Doug Long and His Law Firm Have Got to Go!

Doug Long and his firm, Marmero and Grace were awarded several lucrative no bid contracts by Team Santiago that have so far paid over $480,000. Yes, that is correct close to a half a million dollars with more yet to come! Team Santiago awarded these contracts even though Long, Marmero,  and Grace had their share of ethical and financial complaints which were known to Team Santiago. 

These are the ones that we know about so far:

1. Ethics and election violations against both Long and Marmero. The common thread throughout all the complaints is that Long and Marmero engage in a pattern of illegal use of campaign donations to secure government positions for their law firm. This pattern continued when Team Santiago awarded lucrative law contracts to Long and Marmero as a payback for contributing to Team Santiago. For more information see the links at the end of this article.

2. Marmero and Long were reprimanded by the NJ Supreme Court for the misappropriation of trust funds.

3. Long pleaded guilty to tax fraud in Federal Court and is set to be sentenced in   September.

4. Long and Marmero are both being sued in Mercer County for malpractice by Solarsense. The  docket number is MER-L-002246-19 11/22/2019.
           
5. Mr. Grace has declared bankruptcy under case number 20-14747-CMG filed on 03-20-20. His debts are listed as exceeding  $1 million dollars.

6. The icing on the cake is that Doug Long’s brother, Kenneth Long works for Pennoni, the engineering firm hired by Team Santiago in connection with the no bid million dollar demolition of the Eagles building on Main St. (next to Jim’s Lunch) and what a pretty sight it remains today!


Now as all this information comes to light it makes sense why so much money was poured into the local commission election that elected Team Santiago. Now the citizens will see what Team Santiago’s true character is. Remember, you are judged by the company that you keep and presently Team Santiago have chosen to surround themselves and are taking advice from individuals of questionable moral fiber. Team Santiago’s appointments are a reflection of themselves and how they view the world. Will they do the right thing and get rid of Long, Marmero, and Grace? Or as Mr. Santiago did at the last commission meeting continue to sing their praises? Will Team Santiago start doing what is right for Millville instead of what will help pay off their attorney’s. In light of the Mr. Santiago's continuing praise for these disgraced lawyers it is doubtful. We’ll have to wait to see if they do the right thing.

Call in to the commission meeting on May 5, 2020 at 5:30 at 978-990-5000 access code 197407 and ask Team Santiago what they are going to do about Long, Marmero, and Grace.

Ah Jack Surrency - a hypocrite who wants history to repeat itself. Jack everyone knows when you were fired from your county job at work force you went straight to doug long to get you a job. Everyone knows doug got you that job at the improvement authority even when they begged him not to higher a lazy do nothing like you. And when you were fired from the authority, everyone knew you went right back to doug for another job. And everyone knows that doug got you that job in Fairfield even though they begged him to let them higher someone competent. And when you were fired from Fairfield everyone knew including doug that no one in their right mind would higher Jack surrency - that’s why you’re still unemployed. So what did you do? You went to doug and asked him to get you elected because you needed the freeholder salary and because doug can get anyone ejected even a stiff like you. Now you say Doug must go when what everyone has been telling doug (the only one that has ever helped you) is that jack must go. I pray that this election exposes you for the lazy, incompetent loser you truly are. Anyone that votes for you either wants to sabotage our county or is as inept as you are.

Simple question how do you Mr Gould know that there are no bid contracts? Because the article says so. Let me inform you all appointments go through the transparent RFQ bidding system. Seems like you just want to stage this fake outrage because you want your side to win. That is a 1 sided article with few truths. Please stop promoting this insane message! Makes people lose faith in our great country

ANOTHER LAWSUIT AGAINST THE CITY

 Chief Farabella was just reappointed for another 3 years even though a lawsuit was filed against  Farabella and Pepitone by a city employee.The lawsuit is worth reading.  The allegations, if true, are startling. These allegations also raise the question should Farabella have been reappointed at this time? Did the commissioners look into the allegations prior to voting? The lawsuit involves the departments of Parent and Pepitone who both voted to reappoint Farabella. Did they do their due diligence? Of interest is line 55 in the lawsuit. It clearly states that Doug Long was performing legal duties for the city in 2019. Didn't the commissioners claim that Mr. Long was not involved in the city, only Marmero and Grace. WHO WILL FILL QUINN'S VACANT SEAT?

Now that Quinn has resigned for the second time, what happens to his empty seat? The commission has the option to appoint someone until the next election which is November 2022. Who do the new commissioners think that person should be? The last time Quinn resigned, Commissioner Sooy held fast to the belief that the person who came in 6th in the election should fill the seat. This time the 6th place person is Robert McQuade.  This is the only fair  scenario as the present commission has not even been sworn in yet. Hopefully Commissioner Sooy and the new commissioners will agree that Mr. McQuade should be appointed. Robert Mcquade put the time in to run for the office. The voters had enough faith in Mr. McQuade that he came in 6th with over 2000 votes.
