WHO WILL FILL QUINN'S VACANT SEAT?

Now that Quinn has resigned for the second time, what happens to his empty seat? The commission has the option to appoint someone until the next election which is November 2022. Who do the new commissioners think that person should be?

The last time Quinn resigned, Commissioner Sooy held fast to the belief that the person who came in 6th in the election should fill the seat. This time the 6th place person is Robert McQuade.  This is the only fair  scenario as the present commission has not even been sworn in yet. Hopefully Commissioner Sooy and the new commissioners will agree that Mr. McQuade should be appointed.

Robert Mcquade put the time in to run for the office. The voters had enough faith in Mr. McQuade that he came in 6th with over 2000 votes. It seems fair that he takes the seat.

In November 2022 anyone can run for this open seat and then the voters will decide who the commissioner will be for the remaining three years.

Comment and post who you believe should fill the open seat. Hopefully the new commissioners will listen to your input.

Just my opinion.
Elections were held and results were certified by the County Board of Elections.
There were 5 Commission Seats being voted on. Top 5 vote getters are elected to office. If someone who was amongst those 5 resigns, prior to being sworn in, it should go to the next highest vote getter. Bob McQuade received 2,165 votes and is currently in 6th place. Due to the resignation of Mr. Quinn, Bob McQuade now becomes number 5. To do otherwise, compromises the will of the people by voiding 2,165 votes cast for Mr. McQuade.

I think McQuade should be offered it . If he dont want-to take the position then I would say Lynne Porreca.

I believe Andrew Van Hook would best serve the city in this open seat.

There should be NO discussion about this! Mr. Mcquade walked the streets, did everything he could to be elected. He should TAKE the empty seat without a doubt! Any of the candidates that think different, should put themselves in Mr. Mcquades situation. I’m sure they would be fighting to take the open seat because they were number 6. In the City of Millville there are 20,099 registered voters. This past election there was 6,415 votes casted. Mr. Mcquade received 2,214 votes from the residents and the number five elected commissioner Kirk Hewitt received 2,397 votes. The difference between them are a total of 183 votes. If any of the newly elected candidates are against this, this will just show that they do NOT have the best interest of the city in mind and has their own agenda they need to fill.

McQuade earned this.

Bob McQuade should be seated as he was the next in line. No question.

McQuade was arrested for impersonating an officer when he was drunk and running his mouth at a local bar. HE IS A JOKE
