Industrial Commission: the Final Chapter
Commissioner Udalovas read a proclamation for the Industrial Commission members stating their
contributions to the city. The contributions were:
contributions to the city. The contributions were:
- This resulted in a proposal for the sale of land for a new business at the airport
which would result in hundreds of thousands of dollars from the sale and jobs
from the future business.
2. Brownfields Strategy
- The city has several Brownfields sites that have available grants for
their cleanup. Nothing had been done about this until the Industrial Commission
pursued the matter.
3. List of real estate owned by the city that could be sold
- If sold, the properties would generate tax income for the city. Before the Industrial
Commission compiled the list no one knew just what the City had to sell.
4. Working with the city and the Delaware River Bay Authority to change the historical
designation boundaries at the Millville Airport
- The present boundaries hinder the redevelopment at the airport
The Industrial Commission members are owed a debt of thanks from the city for their hard work
and forward thinking. They received nothing for the time they spent or the work they did. The cost to the City was zero. The rest of Team Santiago said nothing. They were the ones that voted to get rid of the Industrial Commission.
The other notable point was not one of the members of the Industrial Commission showed to receive their proclamations. Do you blame them?
